Amadou & Mariam kind of mood

I have been on a huge Amadou & Mariam kick for the last week. I have been playing their newest album Folila like crazy. I just can’t get their voices out of my head. So tonight’s post is going to be some of my favorite videos of their music.

The Cool Kids “Rush Hour Traffic” (Video)

You will never guess where I saw this video… On KidRobot.com. Glad to see that the Cool Kids are still making music and still pushing boundaries of what is trending in Hip Hop. Heck of a catchy beat and an unbelievably graphic & cinematic video.

Pick up the album “when fish ride bicycles” on itunes

Enjoy

Nite Jewel “One Second of Love”

One Second of Love by Nite Jewel from Secretly Jag on Vimeo.

It’s Friday, so how about an odd freaky video with some great music behind it? It’s interesting to witness how fast Nite Jewel’s video for “one second of love” has exploded all over the internet. I first heard this song on Monday, then every where I look, I see this video. So if you are seeing it here for the first time, enjoy. Just fair warning, the hook is very difficult to get out of your noggin.

Yukset “Off the Wall” (Video)

It seems like his album “Living on the Edge of Time” has been out forever without any press or videos. I am glad to see that he put together a really interesting video that is bound to get some buzz. I have been meaning to post this DJ Harvey remix of this same track for some time now but have been seriously slacking these days. So today you get a two for one…

Beirut – Vagabond (Video)

It’s been a minute since they have released anything off last year’s “The Rip Tide” album. The creativity just oozes from them in anything they do. I have to say on of my biggest highlights from the last 12 months was to see them live. All the goose bumps that I got the first time I heard them suddenly reappeared seeing them on stage…

Childish Gambino “Heartbeat”

I was happy to see that Childish Gambino has a professional looking video to go with one of the many great songs off his album. So listen, watch, and enjoy…

Chromatics “Into the Black” (Video)

Incredibly low-fi cover of Neil Young’s “Into the Black.” The video is as minimal as the Chromatics take is on this classic. I love the the progression of this remix. The super 80′s sounding synths at the end give it a modern twist while keeping the over all feeling stuck back in the decade of the original.

Chiddy Bang “By Your Side” (Video)

Chiddy Bang has released a new video “By Your Side” that isn’t even on the new album just for their fans. As a fan I appreciate the gesture. I may even buy “Breakfast” because of it…

Fare Soldi “Dancing with the Monster 2012″

I know its been a quiet week for the blog. It is definitely not because of a lack of new music in February. I won’t bore you with details or excuses on why I was too busy to write… So lets just get to it! Feast your ears on this beauty of a mix.

Fare Soldi has always been a regular here on MusicAyeDeeDee.com. I just can’t help posting almost everything they produce or mix. They have a sound that just can’t be duplicated. These slick Italians bring Disco Funk back to relevenacy. Their intro states that “Fasten your seatbelts. All the funk should be placed in the overhead compartments… cause its way over your head. You can’t understand it, your mind can’t deal with it, and your body’s getting down to it and eventually your going to feel the need to dance to it… So please take a minute to locate the dance floor closest to you.” Take their advice, I guarantee that during this mix you will feel the need to get down. Frisco Disco Baby!
