“ I wanted to take a very sexy direction for the sound of this mix but it also hits on all sorts influences from French music, African, some Brit pop, disco boogie, Moohmbahton and other grooves. I start out pretty mid-tempo but with just amount of groove to it so that it’s dance worthy. Then towards the middle and end the pace and energy picks up. And then at the very end I break it down with a very smooth finish.” – Cosmo Baker
This mix totally fits my music profile. The generas are so varied. The beats have a great ebb and flow. The remixes of Friendly Fires, Lykke Li, and Florence and the Machine all hit in the perfect spots to keep my interest up. So many new artists and tracks on here that I must explore now.

I think after a couple of years blogging I have finally figured out this thing out. I am always concerned about not having the write words to put with the right music. Honestly, I don’t know how much of this blog is actually read. I hope that the majority of this blog is used for its music whether that be from audio players or videos. Really, that is what this whole blog is about, THE MUSIC. I will try and steer you in the right direction, but ultimately it is what you hear that you will remember. Not what i say.
So on that note, I kept the last Cosmic Cowboys mix to myself because i was afraid of how I could present it. This time I am saying fuck it. Hit Play. Enjoy the deep and endless house tunnel of love. The funny thing about this duo is that they always take me back to a place when i hear it.
I get screen shots of roof tops in San Francisco with house sounds pumping from down below. The fog rolls overhead while the 21 year old version of me reclines on a lounge chair smoking a hand rolled cigarette surrounded by my brother and his friends. That is the brilliant thing about great music, it will always take you back to a time and place. Cosmic Cowboys have the ability. So open you mind, get transported, and enjoy.
Some of you may know the name Dirty South Joe from the genera creating duo of LuvStep. On his latest remix he takes a break from the pop dubstep sound and covers Katy Perry’s “I kissed a girl.” I really like how he incorporated the Prince sample throughout the remix. Follow this dude on soundcloud because he is constantly putting out quality tracks and mixtapes.
